Judicial Diversity Dashboard

as of January 2026

Judicial diversity is a matter of great importance in our community and to the fair administration of justice. The Judiciary is committed to creating a culture of inclusivity throughout our state courts that exemplifies the diversity in Hawaiʻi.

About this Dashboard

For best results, we recommend you view the dashboard on a desktop computer or large tablet.

The blue panel compares the gender of our judges, according to our Human Resources records collected at the time of each justice or judge’s hiring, to the U.S. Census and the Hawaiʻi State Bar Association (HSBA) membership.

The light gray panel shows the results of the Judiciary's voluntary statewide demographic survey of full-time justices and judges. By conducting this survey and sharing its results, we hope to advance transparency and understanding about who we are as an institution. This survey is only one part of a coordinated effort to support Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) within the Judiciary for both our employees and court users.
